Doppler Testing

A Doppler ultrasound test utilizes reflected sound waves to assess blood as it flows through a blood vessel. The procedure helps Dr. Motazedi appraise blood flow through the major arteries and veins of the neck, legs, and arms. The test can allow the physician to see reduced blood flow through narrowing in the major arteries of the neck that could cause a stroke. The Doppler test can also reveal blood clots in leg veins that could break loose and block blood flow to the lungs.
