High Cholesterol
High Cholesterol, also known as Hypercholesterolemia, is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood. Elevated cholesterol in the blood is due to abnormalities in the levels of lipoproteins, which may be caused by ones diet, genetic factors, and the presence of other diseases such as diabetes and underactive thyroid. High cholesterol levels are typically treated with diets low in cholesterol and medications.
